Index to land grants, A-Z, 1-124, from the Virginia Land Office, 1779-1925.

These records contain an index applying only to grant books kept by the Land Office. Grants issued after the Land Office came under the auspices of the secretary of the commonwealth and the Virginia State Library have not been entered into this index. Each volume is indexed individually. In columns under the number or letter of each volume is the name of the grantee, the number of acres in his patent, and the page on which the document is recorded. The names are entered in the order in which they appear in each volume.
